TERMS AND CONDITIONS

PRE-DEPARTURE INFORMATION

After receiving your deposit and application forms, ARTIS will send you a program information packet. We are also available to answer your questions over our toll free line. We will send your airline tickets directly to you, two weeks before departure. Our pre-departure packet contains information on what to take, not to take, local customs art supplies, etc., so you have a good idea of what to expect.

THE SINGLE TRAVELER

As indicated on your registration form, we will make every effort to house you with others of similar interests and age. Most of the participants on our tours are single travelers, so you will be in great company, socializing with others interested in meeting people and making new friends. In addition, we select safe locations in which we conduct our tours. In fact the places we visit are probably safer than your own home town. Based on the order of enrollment ARTIS will assign roommates. In the event that no roommate is available the forced single will be allowed to pay 75% of the single room supplement.

FLEXIBILITY

ARTIS Study Tours "base city" concept of staying in a furnished apartment in one place and taking field trips and excursions from there, allows you to get settled in and have a "home away from home". (No packing and unpacking hassles everyday and sleeping in a strange place every night, like a traditional tour). You will be given an orientation upon arrival in your "home town" and have a chance to get acquainted with everyone on the tour.

You'll enjoy this trip most if you're flexible and open to new experiences, if you have a good sense of humor, and if you can accept delays and last-minute changes with equanimity. If you require complete comfort and a firm itinerary at all times, these trips are not for you. Schedules sometimes have a way of shifting and provide an opportunity to do something special we had not planned. There is a very slight possibility that flight schedules might change. You may attend whichever tour activities you wish, however, there will be no refunds for missed tour activities. Anyone who leaves the tour for any reason is on their own.
